Creative Arts Therapy

Exposure to traumatic events during childhood and adolescence is widespread, with long-term effects on mental well-being. Creative arts-based interventions have shown promise in reducing trauma symptoms and improving emotional resilience1. This project aims to leverage CAT to promote mental health awareness.

About the project

1. Needs Assessment
  • Conduct surveys and interviews to understand the mental health needs in schools and the community.

  • Identify potential partners, stakeholders, and interested participants.

2. Workshop Design
  • Develop CAT workshops tailored to different age groups (primary, secondary, university students, and adults).

  • Include art activities such as painting, storytelling, role-playing, and mask-making.

3. Workshop Implementation
  • Collaborate with schools and community centers to organize workshops.

  • Train certified art therapists and facilitators.

  • Schedule regular sessions (weekly or monthly).

End result

By implementing CAT workshops, we can empower individuals, reduce stigma, and create a mentally healthier Uganda. We invite potential sponsors and partners to join us in this transformative journey.
